We all have a way to store our favorite code, but have you thought about this alternative?
Access Developers are a great lot, we develop code libraries over time and love to take Access to max, sometimes when we are hired however, we can't take our libraries with us, either the client has strict policies on USB drives, or are code is stored back at the office and not readily accessible. What to do?
Google Docs to the Rescue
If you haven't then you really need to give Google Docs a try, it's a wonderful tool, but what really makes it worthwhile for a programmer is it's uncanny search ability. I've got several hundred code snippets in my Google Docs library and I've never had a problem finding anything as long as I document my code and I recall at least something of what I'm looking for. In fact it's so good finding my code I don't even bother organizing it by topics or folders, I just create a new doc, add the code with comments and tags and presto, it's available anywhere in the world I'm working. |
